Best Temperature For Sleep

Alexa L. on 9th Sep 2019

Hello and welcome back to Sleep Hacks. I'm Alexa from DubsLabs and today I am going to hopefully help you end the fighting over the thermostat by telling you the best temperature for falling asleep and staying asleep.

The general consensus for the optimal temperature range is 60 degrees to 67 degrees. Why is this? Well, when you start to fall asleep, your body actually cools itself down. If your environment allows this to happen more quickly, you get to fall asleep faster. Discomfort and restlessness from temperature while falling asleep can cause grogginess the next morning, and maybe even a little passive aggressive behavior towards your partner.

Personally, I'm definitely a cold sleeper. I want windows open, AC blasting, fans on, all to pile mounds of blankets on top of myself so I can fall asleep. I can definitely attest to what happens when you struggle with restlessness from a hot sleeping temperature and you wake up maybe not as your best self, you can ask my college roommates. I hope we've settled this debate for you. As far as the ceiling fan being on, I will leave that up to you to decide.

All right. Thanks for tuning in. If you liked this video, please give us a thumbs up and subscribe to our channel to stay up to date on all things Sleep Hacks. See you next time.
